"The Founding Fathers - Mounts Jefferson, Adams and Madison"
18" x 36" - Oil on canvas

While this was not my first trip up the Mount Washington Autoroad, it was the most inspiring. The plan was to do some painting there, but while the weather wouldn't permit I was looking with fresh eyes upon the impressive collection of rugged peaks before my eyes and the distant mountains fading into the sky. Thinking this time as a painter and not just another visitor I wanted to paint it all. The places which most grabbed me were the first three places I've painted to begin my series.

This painting is called "The Founding Fathers" because these peaks are just below Mount Washington and called Mounts Jefferson, Adams and Madison. The smaller peak, just before Mount Adams is Sam Adams.
