"if only we try to live sincerely, it will go well with us, even though
we are certain to experience real sorrow and great disappointments, and also
will probably commit great faults and do wrong things, it certainly
is true that it is better to be high spirited, even though
one makes more mistakes, than to be narrow-minded and all too prudent."
Vincent VanGogh
New Paintings

Welcome to the Paintbrush Graphics web site. Contained here are the paintings of Barbara Busenbark. There are both watercolor and oil paintings. I also have documented the building of my studio which occurred in the summer of 2004. An ongoing project is Downtown Our Town - a series of paintings of Peterborough, New Hampshire. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about my work by clicking on my name.

Contained on the Paintbrush Graphics web site is also the project of putting together my studio. Building the Studio

Painting landscapes in both watercolor and oil has me forever looking at clouds and shadows, tree lines andflowers. Sometimes I paint watercolor paintings because the scene I want to capture calls for it. I also paint watercolor paintings because I so enjoy the effect of the paint as it absorbs into the paper.

With oil painting I enjoy being able to build the painting and create depth. I want people to feel as though they can walk into my paintings and explore the scene around them. Walk down the path or wade in the stream. I've recently begun painting street scenes too. I hope they are also inviting.

Painting the New England landscape is always interesting because of the change of seasons, the streams and mountains, the coastline and the old town centers. My garden is a great source for inspiration in the summer. Watercolor paintings of streams and oil paintings of the flowers make it impossible to run out of subjects in this beautiful place.

My paintings are available for sale as listed. Prints are also available for some paintings.

Downtown Our Town
The Downtown Our Town series of paintings is my current project. I am painting Peterborough, New Hampshire's downtown area. It was Peterborough which Thorton Wilder based his town of Grover's Corners on in his play Our Town. It truly is a scenic New England town.
